The City of Oslo decided to build a new opera house right at the water edge of the south harbor development.
The triangular design features a grand entry plaza, 3 performance rooms incl. the 4-level traditional opera stage. The key element is the unifying main lobby with a 2500sqm panoramic window overlooking the harbor and the islands in the Oslo fjord.
The view of great scenery aims at connecting nature & music and reflecting on the great Scandinavian composers of classical music.
